The first day of the Subroto Cup registers three hat-tricks

Heirok Higher Secondary School (HHSS), Imphal and Sudhanwa Debbarma Memorial Secondary School (SDMHS), Jampuijala recorded identical winning margins of 7-0 in the second day of the 61st Subroto Cup International Football Tournament, as the Boys Under 14 group stage matches got off to a serious start, with 11 matches played across four grounds in the nation’s capital.

HHS, Imphal overwhelmed Ramakrishna Mission Vivekanand Vidya Peeth, Narayanpur, Chhattisgarh at Tejas Football Ground with the second hat trick assist from L. Bikramjit who scored in the 15e46e and 49e minute of the game. His teammate L. Boyomayo secured a brace, scoring in the 7e and 13th minute. The other goals were scored by K. Dingkal (29e) and J. Likson (33rd).

SDMHS, Jampuijala secured their result 7-0 against The Air Force Schools (TAFS) at Ambedkar Stadium. Jetli Kalai scored the third hat-trick of the tournament in this match by scoring in the 15e19e and 39e minutes. Bijoy, Rohit, Asutosh and Philman scored the other goals for the Tripura team.

Government Chawngfianga Middle School, Mizoram, which beat Army Government School, Delhi Cantonment, 5-0, also won on the day. This match at Ambedkar saw the first hat-trick of the tournament with Isak Lalmaisawma scoring in the 5e25e and 47e minutes of play.

Other winners of the day included Major Dhyan Chand Sports College, Lucknow (2-1 over KVS, Imphal), Gurukul, Kurukshetra who beat BKBirla Center of Education 3-0 and Pathways School, Noida who won 3-0 on St Ecole Francis Xavier, Daman and Diu.
