Malayalam author and screenwriter PV Shajikumar has won the Swami Vivekananda Yuva Prathibha Award, instituted by the Kerala State Youth Welfare Board, for the year 2020. Jithin Chandran, Senior Journalist of Mathrubhumi News, won the Yuva Award in the category of visual media.

The award was created to encourage young talents from different sectors such as literature, journalism, art, agriculture, sports, entrepreneurship and social service. Youth and Yuva clubs with the best performance at the state and district levels are also honored with the award.

The prize includes a cash prize of Rs 50,000, a souvenir and a citation. The top Youth-Yuva clubs in the district will receive Rs 30,000 and the top Youth-Yuva clubs in the state will receive Rs 50,000 along with a souvenir and a citation.

The Minister of Fisheries, Culture and Youth, Saji Cheriyan, will present the awards to the winners during the ceremony to be held at the central stadium in Thiruvananthapuram at around 3:30 p.m. on March 31. The ceremony will be chaired by Minister Antony Raju.

Kamarul Hakeem (Social Service), Jithin Chandran M (Visual Media), VP Nisar (Print Media), Kalamandalam Sharmila (Arts), Rajani SR (Fine Arts), Sreeshankar, Sandra Babu (Sports), Sujith SP (Agriculture ), Mohammed Hizamudheen (Entrepreneurship), Dr Rosita Kuniyil (Science) are the winners of the award.
