The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at the release of a photo biography and documentary to acquaint the masses with Swami Ji’s mission “The meaning of sannyas is to work for society by rising above self and live for the good of society” “Swami Vivekanand Ji has shaped the great tradition of sanyasth into a modern form” “The ideals of Ramakrishna mission are to work in mission mode, create new institutions and strengthen the institutions” “The holy tradition of India has always proclaimed ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat'” “Everyone knows the saints of Ramakrishna Mission as the conductors of national unity in the country” “Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa, was l ‘one of those saints who had a clear vision of Maa Kali’ ‘India has become a world leader in digital payments’ Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi addressed the centenary celebration today of the na ancestry of Swami Atmasthananda via video message. The Prime Minister paid tribute to Swami Atmasthananda Ji by reminiscing about his time with Swami Ji. Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister said that “this event is filled with many feelings and memories. I was always blessed by him, there was an opportunity to be with him. I am lucky to have stayed in contact with him until the last moment. The Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at the release of a photo biography and documentary to introduce Swami Ji’s mission to the masses. Shri Modi warmly commended Mission President Ramakrishna Pujya Swami Smarananand Ji Maharaj ji for this work. Prime Minister Shri Modi pointed out that Swami Atmasthananand Ji received initiation from Pujya Swami Vijnanand Ji, a disciple of Sri Ramakrishna Paramhansa. He noticed that the awakened state and spiritual energy of Swami Ramkrishna Paramhansa was clearly visible in him. Shri Modi also remarked on the great tradition of renunciation in the country. Vanprastha Ashram is also a step towards sanyas. He said, “The meaning of sannyas is to work for society by rising above oneself and living for society. The expansion of self to the community. For a sanyasi, service to living beings is service to the lord, seeing Shiva in the living being is paramount.’ The Prime Minister remarked that Swami Vivekanand Ji had transformed the great tradition of sanyasth into a modern form. Swami Atmasthananand Ji also withdrew into this form and lived and implemented it in life. Prime Minister, Shri Modi also highlighted the huge relief and rescue operations that have been carried out not only in India but also in Nepal and Bangladesh under his leadership by Belur Matt and Ramakrishna Mission. He mentioned the hard work that Swami Ji has done for the welfare of people in rural areas. Shri Modi also remarked on the institutions created by Swami Ji to help the poor with employment and livelihoods. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi said that Swami Ji considered serving the poor, spreading knowledge and his work as worship. Shri Modi emphasized that the ideals of Ramakrishna Mission are to work in mission mode, to create new institutions and to strengthen institutions. The Prime Minister remarked that wherever there are such saints, centers of service to humanity spring up by themselves, Swami ji proved this by his life as a sanyasa. Shri Modi said that whether it was Adi Shankaracharya hundreds of years ago or Swami Vivekananda in modern times, India’s holy tradition has always proclaimed ‘Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat’. The establishment of Ramakrishna Mission is also associated with the idea of ”Ek Bharat, Shrestha Bharat”. While underlining the contributions of Swami Vivekananda, the Prime Minister said that he lived this resolution in the form of a mission. His influence was felt in all parts of the country, and his travels made the country aware of its former national consciousness in the era of slavery, and also instilled in it a new confidence. This tradition of the Ramakrishna mission was carried on by Swami Atmasthananand ji throughout his life. While reminiscing about his time with Swami Ji, the Prime Minister, Shri Modi said he had the chance to speak to him in Gujarati. The Prime Minister also remarked on when during the Kutch earthquake relief works were carried out under the leadership of Swami Ji. Shri Modi said, “Everyone knows the saints of Ramakrishna mission as conductors of national unity in the country. And, when he goes abroad, he represents Indianness there. The Prime Minister, Shri Modi, remarked that Swami Ramakrishna Paramhansa, was one of those saints who had a clear vision of Maa Kali, who had surrendered his whole being at the feet of Maa Kali. All this world, this variable and this constant, everything is traversed by the consciousness of the mother. This awareness is seen in the Kali Puja of Bengal. The Prime Minister pointed out that a bundle of this consciousness and power has been illumined by Swami Ramakrishna Paramahansa in the form of Yugpurushas like Swami Vivekananda. The spiritual vision that Swami Vivekananda felt about Mother Kali had infused him with tremendous energy and power. Shri Modi said that a powerful personality like Swami Vivekananda would get excited like a little child in devotion to the memory of Jaganmata Kali. The Prime Minister remarked that he could see the same sincerity of devotion and power of Shakti Sadhana within Swami Atmasthananand Ji. Prime Minister, Shri Modi, while paying tribute to the life of Swami Atmasthananand Ji, said that our sages have shown us that when our thoughts are broad, we are never alone in our endeavors! You will see the life journey of so many of these saints in the land of Bharat Varsh who fulfilled the resolutions as a summit without any resources. Shri Modi saw the same faith and dedication in the life of Atmasthananand Ji. The Prime Minister remarked that when one person of India, a wise man, can do so much, then there is no goal that cannot be achieved by the collective resolve of 130 million compatriots. While taking the example of Digital India, Prime Minister Shri Modi said that India has become a global leader in digital payments. The Prime Minister also highlighted the achievements of administering 200 crore vaccine doses to the people of India. These examples are a symbol of the fact that when the thoughts are pure, the efforts are soon accomplished and the obstacles show us the way. Addressing the gathering of revered saints, the Prime Minister said that 75 Amrit Sarovars are being made in each district as part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav. Shri Modi urged everyone to inspire people and also join in the noble work of human service. Shri Modi stressed that the centenary years become the year of new energy and inspiration and wished the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav to succeed in awakening the sense of duty in the country. The Prime Minister insisted that the collective contribution of each of us can bring about great change.
