Don’t you know how to tie your laces… Saying this, Swami Vivekananda tied the shoelaces of the boy Bholanath Chattopadhyay. When Bholanath, the child of Bholenath’s city of Deoghar, came home and told this to his relatives, they put him in the heart. That said, you have got the love of a great saint. be lucky Today Bholanath is no more with us, but his 80-year-old nephew Arvind Chattopadhyay is carrying this legacy to his chest. His eyes widened while narrating this incident between Swamiji and his uncle. This incident was told to Arvind by his sister-in-law Suniti. Arvind Chattopadhyay had great faith in Baba Nagari, told that Swami Vivekananda has a deep relationship with Deoghar. From here he had a spiritual connection. After coming here, Baba used to get his head bowed in Baidyanath’s court. He had visited Deoghar seven times. When he used to come to Deoghar, he also used to meditate in the shade of nature on the banks of river Darwa. It is a matter of those days when Swamiji came to Deoghar in 1898. Uncle Bholanath Chattopadhyay and Tarashankar Chattopadhyay studied in the school. Both uncles heard that the wonderful sannyasin had come. They also went to the banks of the Darwa river to see them. At that time the shoelace of uncle Bholanath was open. He didn’t pay attention to it. He was just looking at Swamiji in awe. When Swamiji was ready to walk, his eyes fell on both of them. He went ahead and tied his shoelaces and said, you know not to tie your laces…. Later with his blessings both our uncles became eminent advocates of Deoghar. There was a lot of fame in the advocacy of both the brothers then. According to Arvind, every child in our family is told this incident. So that the coming generation imbibes the ideals of Swamiji. Arvind says that even today when we pass through the river Darwa, the context of uncle and Swamiji comes to mind. The voice resonates in the ears, don’t you know that you are tying your laces. Swamiji’s Fulfilling Dream On September 11, 1893, Swami Vivekananda had introduced the whole world to the oldest saint tradition and Sanatan culture at the World Religions Conference in Chicago, America. In his eloquent address, he had also told that our country respects all religions. We are proud that our religion gives the message of tolerance to the world. Swamiji always used to say that education should be such that all round development of the child. He had come to Baba Baidyanath Temple before going to Chicago. When he returned to India after playing the danka of Sanatan Dharma in Chicago, he again came to Baba Baidyanath temple and expressed his gratitude. The future of children is being forged in the Ramkrishna Mission Vidyapeeth running in different parts of the country including Deoghar. The dream he had dreamed of is being fulfilled today.
