SHUBHANGI SHIFA Ranchi, 29th August: An induction program was held for newly admitted students of the 2022 academic session at ICFAI University, Jharkhand campus which saw the participation of parents and students from all programs in the lot 2022. Swami Antaranand Maharaj, Assistant Secretary, Ramakrishna Mission Ashram, Ranchi was present as a special guest at the inauguration ceremony. Welcoming participants to the program, Prof. ORS Rao, Vice Chancellor of ICFAI University, said, “Our university is focused on nurturing our students as competent professionals with value of aptitude and character. “. He then explained how the university is updating its curriculum and equipping students with practical skills in line with Industry 4.0. He advised students to adopt the five qualities of a student – hard work and perseverance of a crow, concentration of a crane, alertness of a dog, limited worldly desires and distractions, desire to get out of the zone of home comfort. The VC further encouraged them to study with determination, discipline, dedication and diligence, which he said is the key to success. Emphasizing the need for collaborative efforts between parents and the University for the success of their children, Professor Rao urged parents to cooperate with the University by participating in parent-teacher meetings and to encourage more efforts to the Institute. Addressing the students, Swami Antaran and Maharaj advised the students to develop spirituality for inner peace of mind. He also encouraged them to focus on character development, which is vital to their success and happiness. Parents present at the occasion welcomed the initiative taken by the university to provide quality education as well as personality development. Students from the senior promotions shared their experiences of life on campus and lessons from the recently concluded summer internship. Professor Arvind Kumar of the university said that apart from academics, the university is undertaking several social awareness initiatives for the inclusive development of neighboring villages and you all have the opportunity to actively participate in them. “Plus, you can take part in a range of extra-curricular activities for comprehensive personality development,” he added.
