Shah attended the Golden Jubilee celebrations of Ramakrishna Mission at Narottam Nagar in Tirap district, Shah also unveiled the statue of Swami Vivekananda.
The Home Secretary has laid the foundation stone for a 51ft tall bronze statue of Lord Parashuram at the famous Parshuram Kund in Lohit district.
He said: “Whenever I visit Arunachal and hear ‘Jai Hind’ instead of ‘Namaste’, I feel a sense of pride. There is probably no other place in the country other than Arunachal Pradesh which has such patriotism and conscience.”
He added: “Every time we come to Arunachal we come back with energy and patriotism so I want to thank the people of Arunachal for that. departure to transform the North-East which has a lot of problems.”
He added: “Before 2014, when I had visited the North East, I was shocked to hear when a family member I was staying with asked me if I had come from India. Last 8 years after 2014 Modi eliminated the distance between Delhi and the North East The whole country loves the North East and all its states and the North East also proudly says today that we are part of the great nation of India, we are Indians, this is a big leap forward to bring about this change in a short span of 8 years.”
Shah said that to date, a prime minister has never visited the North East 50 times, but Modi has visited different North East states more than 50 times in 8 years.
“So far, a Prime Minister has never been concerned about the languages of the North East as part of the national education policy, but Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, because of his concern for the languages of the North East, has ensured that primary education is provided in the languages of the North East states as part of the new education policy,” the Home Secretary added.
He said: “Whether it’s the emotional connection of people in the North East with the rest of the country, whether it’s connecting this region to the rest of the nation through air, rail and road connectivity, Modi has shown intimate attachment to the North East by providing infrastructure projects worth thousands of Crores of Rupees for the North East.
Over 60% of the disputed area between Meghalaya and Assam, which had been disputed for years, has now been resolved peacefully. I hope we will soon find a solution to the Arunachal-Assam border issue as well.”
He said Modi’s government, a plan for the development of the North East in a structured way had never been drawn, but we made this plan, the ministry of interior, the government of India established the North East development agenda in three parts.
Our first objective is not only to save the dialects, languages, dance, music and culinary traditions of the Northeast, but also to enrich them and make them the pride of the nation.
Secondly, by ending all conflict, providing a platform for the youth of the North East through which they can compete with the youth of the world, it is our responsibility to create such an environment free of conflict, peaceful, without extremists, without weapons North East.
The third goal is to bring the eight Northeastern states to the top spot in the list of the most developed states in the country.
