Aamir Wadwan Viman Nagar, September 1, 2022: The use of public parks has declined since the Covid-19 pandemic. The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) said it aims to develop public and theme parks for recreational and aesthetic purposes. They also tend to allow photography and school trips to the garden to promote awareness. The PMC carries out the daily maintenance and organizes the management of the gardens of all the public parks. PMC Assistant Garden Superintendent Shashikant Bamble said: “The public visiting the parks is regular as it was in the pre-covid-19 era. Shashikant Dalvi, a resident of Viman Nagar and a member of an old people’s forum, said: “I have been visiting public parks for over 20 years. I regularly visit Swami Vivekanand Udyan in Viman Nagar to walk and attend meetings of the Elder Forum. The public park has a track, an open gym and rides for children. The PMC Garden department has done a good job in maintaining and developing the park.
